The Meltingpot table plays a keystone role in maintaining a circular design practice at Kooij. A relentless prototyper, Dirk van der Kooij first sought to develop a robust pressing process to contend with his mountains of extruded furniture experiments in 2015. The resultant system sees studio discards melt under pressure to form solid, conglomerate slabs.

Cleaning is advised with a gentle dish detergent and
microfibre cloth. Much like wood or stone, the solid plastic
will develop a patina of use over time. It is safe to buff away
superficial marks with a mildly abrasive dish cleaner such
as Cif. Cif is also useful in the removal of stains, such as
from turmeric or rust. For deeper scratches, a woodworker
or kitchen surfacer can effortlessly buff the table back to
its original state. Please ensure that the plastic does not
come into contact with acetone or other chemical cleaners.
